Minneka Schipperkes is a family afair spanning multiple generations, established in 1983 by Peggy and Dan Ramsey with their daughters Mary and Diane. In early 1987, Minneka Schipperkes obtained Jessica (CH Kanbric's Mrs. Smith, CD CGC), who went on to become one of Minneka's foundation bitches. Shortly after Maverick (Multi BISS Am/Can CH DAC's Top Gun, HOF, ROM) joined the Minneka kennel and was a great show dog for Mary and Diane in the Junior ring.

Minneka Schipperkes believes in the soundness and excellence of type, temperment and health of the Schipperke. It is our love of the breed that we strive to improve the Schipperke. Minneka Schipperkes strongly believes in health of the breed. We participate in various health studies conducted by Universities and research labs through DNA or other submissions. We actively seek appropriate health certifications (e.g.: MPS-IIIB, hips, leggs-calve-perthes, elbows, patellar, thyroid, CERF) above and beyond the typical standard minimum within the breed. We openly share the health clearances and certifications for our dogs. Mary has served in numerous positions within the Schipperke Club of America, acted as the Chair for both Judges Education and Breeder Education, and the family is active in rescue assisting where possible.

When we are not taking care of our dogs and showing, we all pursue professional careers to support our dogs and kennels. Peggy, Dan and Diane Ramsey reside in Holt, Missouri. Mary Kraus resides with her husband, Tom, and their daughter, Kaitlyn, in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Kaitlyn has the toughest job of all, she enjoys being a kid and playing with all her dogs.

We sell each of our dogs, after careful owner screening, under individualized contracts. On occasion, we have puppies, retired show dogs or rescues available. We welcome serious inquires regarding the Schipperke.
